Fight for a New World. A Decent World.
0Waking up early gives you time to think. It really does. We in the startup world work and work and then work some more, often into to the late hours. Because of that it’s all too easy to lose sight of the things that affect you and everyone around you. It could be your health, your hobby or the health of the world around you.
Since FounderFuel I’ve stuck to a regiment of waking up at 6:30 am each morning. I take 30 minutes from the moment I wake up to let my mind meditate on whatever unfinished business that may linger. The catch is, I don’t think of work. I think of the people I love and what I should be thankful for. I think about me and what I am doing to make sure I don’t forget who I am. At 6:30 in the morning you will catch me at my most honest. Then at 7, I do my morning reading and surfing to see what’s up in the world and to learn at least one new thing or rediscover something I’ve forgotten. If there is despair in my heart about anything, taking that time in the morning to learn something new or find something beautiful goes away with it.
This morning I stumbled upon this video and it brought a tear to my eye. My previous post to this one was about how there needs to be love again in our communities. It was a rant but I had trouble zeroing in on what the factors were that caused people to act the way they do. Perhaps as Charlie Chaplin says below,
our knowledge has made us cynical. We think too much but feel too little.
Here is something beautiful.
