Happy 10th Bloggiversary!

I’ve never actually met Raymi, although we’ve been aware of one another for quite some time. I guess kismet just didn’t toss our cards in the same hand no matter how many times the deck was shuffled. Considering how many friends we share in common you would think that at some point over the past year we would have at least bumped into each other.

After band practice last night the boys and I were in the neighbourhood of Wrong Bar so we popped in to see what was up with Raymitheminx’s 10 year blog anniversary party. Casie was there to greet us and whisked us in happily.

I was actually taken aback by how classy Raymi made the reception. Wrong Bar is not really a place people think of first when considering a classy joint in the city but somehow it got transformed. The catering from the Cheese Boutique was sublime and the place just seemed to have a sheen to it with all the great food, cool folks and Raymi’s beaming, proud parents in attendance.

Appleton Estate Rum was only too happy to let us try their product. The choices were rum with coke or cranberry. I asked for rum with rum. After some strange looks from the rum server she complied and it was off to finally meet the lady of the hour.

This could get messy

As you can see in the photo above she was glammed up to the nines. I hear that people like and dislike her but my first impression when I finally met her last night was pretty positive actually. I have respect for anyone who works as hard as she does so maybe my positive disposition was already inherent. Either way, I’ve been reading her blog from time to time and I would say that the party was very her. Great food, art, drinks, condoms – these are all things you will read about over at her site and she makes no apologies about them.

After our appearance at the party we were given gift bags with a few interesting items inside. See for yourself – I think the contents of the bag speak for themselves and will form the beginning, middle, and end of an interesting story in the future.
